This exciting workshop will see students work alongside the multi-award winning vocal quartet, Blindside, from Queensland and the Founder and Artistic Director of the Festival Statesmen Chorus, Jonathan Bligh. Students will workshop an a capella piece and explore performance craft, sectional work and a cappella singing techniques. Sheet Music and Learning Tracks will be provided free of charge to students.
This is a free a cappella workshop for secondary school students and spaces are strictly limited, so please register your interest below early to avoid disappointment.
Students attending this workshop will be offered discount tickets to the Voices of Adelaide Gala Concert to be held at Elder Hall on Friday, 29 August 2025. Artists will include the South Australian Honour Choir, Blindside, Festival Statesmen and Aurora Vocal Ensemble.
Jonathan Bligh is a passionate advocate for singing in Australia. He is a Conductor, Vocal Coach, Ensemble Singer and Music Educator.
Jonathan is the Founder and Artistic Director of the international multi-award-winning male-voiced a cappella group, the Festival Statesmen Chorus.
Jonathan holds a Master of Voice Pedagogy with Distinction from the Westminster Choir College (Rider University, Princeton, USA), a Bachelor of Music (Elder Conservatorium, Adelaide), Graduate Diploma of Education (University of Adelaide) and a Licentiate of the Royal Schools of Music (London).
